Sleeping Bulls was originally formed in Oxford, Mississippi among friends and long-time collaborators within the college music scene there. The current band roster is a sparse three-piece consisting of Mark Adamec (song crafter and guitarist), Lyon Chadwick (violin, vocals, keys), and David Gilmore (piano, vocals, guitar, pedal steel). Definitely for fans of Andrew Bird, Final Fantasy, all-around thoughtful song crafting, and independent spirit (sometimes read "DIY"). Although as crude as recording facilities can be at times for Sleeping Bulls, their debut album is mixed by Clay Jones (see Modest Mouse's "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" and "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank") lending artful balance to an often chaotic sound scape, not to mention some pretty mean guitar chops on "New Year's Eve."
