Skuff’d Shoes arrived on the ska scene in south Florida during the fall of 2005. With the strong up-beat of ska, the energy of punk, and the groove of reggae Skuff’d Shoes is a local favorite rooted in D.I.Y. ethics. The band’s lineup has changed over the past year but the six-piece is still going rock steady and continue to write catchy ska tunes and reggae jams influenced by artists like Bob Marley, Pepper, and the Aggrolites. The three founding members of Skuff’d Shoes came together after meeting at several ska concerts in the Tri-county area and decided to collaborate musically. The ska scene in south Florida was small, but enthusiastic and waiting for a new group to fill the lack of local flavor. With early influences like Mustard Plug and Less Than Jake, Skuff’d Shoes live performances are explosive and energetic and fans were immediately drawn to the onstage action and edgy sound. Skuff’d Shoes won the City of Boca Raton Battle of the Bands in 2006 and were finalists in the 2006 South Florida Fair. Playing dozens of shows across the state, Skuff’d Shoes has been recognized by audiences young and old alike and have opened for national acts like The Toasters, The Mad Caddies, Badfish, and The Supervillains. When not performing on stage the members of Skuff’d Shoes can be found dancing in the crowd, selling merch, or socializing with fans while spreading the positive message of ska and reggae music. This summer Skuff’d Shoes will be recording their third independent
