With spellbinding atmospheric passages the Danish quartet, Sjäel, captures the theme happiness disguised as misery. Every composition has its own feel as the listener - guided by the fragile voice of lead singer Mathias Barfod – falls deeper into dreaming world of Sjäel. Despite the band member’s young age the band has achieved great reviews in Danish and international websites as well as they’ve played venues in Denmark such as The Rock, Lades Kælder, Stengade 30, Lille Vega, Pumpehuset etc. The songs are progressive, constantly morphing until they explode in a great climax and end. Under an earlier name, Sjäel recorded the demo EP “Untill the End” with Jan Borsing and Jacob Olsen and latest they’ve released “A Void in a Frame” with Morten Hvid as their producer. In 2009, after recording a self titled EP with Morten Hvid at Brorsons Church in Copenhagen, the band went into indefinate hiatus, in order to get some time to travel, study, work on other projects and to get new ideas for the direction of Sjäel in the future. The band wishes to thank you all for your support over the years. ......................................................... 2012: Mathias and Matias has formed a new group called The attic sleepers https://www.facebook.com/theatticsleepers Toby is playing guitar and handling clean vocals for post black metal band Redwood Hill: https://www.facebook.com/RedwoodHill http://www.myspace.com/sjael User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons
