Siyah Tavşan is a Turkish alternative/progressive rock band based in Istanbul, formed in 2017. Their sound combines elements of alternative rock, trip-hop, darkwave, and experimental music, creating an intense and emotionally driven atmosphere. The band’s name, meaning “Black Rabbit,” is a reference to Alice in Wonderland, symbolizing a journey from illusion to self-awareness. In 2022, they released their concept album Diyonizyak, which explores themes of liberation, ecstasy, and chaos—drawing inspiration from Dionysian philosophy and mythology. The album blends heavy grooves, atmospheric synths, and poetic lyrics to narrate a psychological and mythological journey through madness and freedom. Siyah Tavşan consists of Denizalp Şimşek (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboard), Yezdan Köneş (lead guitar), Emre Can Tekinel (bass, backing vocals), and Metehan Aras (drums). Their music pushes the boundaries of Turkish rock with cinematic arrangements and existential themes.
