Sixteen Layers is a rock n roll 4 piece from Ireland. Having spent the past 2 years writing and recording their debut album – I AM NO ONE and with the single No Strings already released with a video, the lads are now priming their live set for the launch of the album in Crawdaddy, Dublin 2 on March 5th, 2009. The album was recorded between England with Jim Lowe (Charlatans, Foo Fighters, Stereophonics) and Ireland in the Grouse Lodge Studios in Westmeath. Most of the production was self helmed. The band consists of Niall Donnelly on vox, Dom Muldoon on guitar, John Colbert on bass and his sparring partner Tim McGrath completing the line up on drums. Over the last few years they have each had a wild ride through the industry playing with Paddy Casey, Damien Dempsey, Morrissey, Laura Izibor and Alpha States amongst others and working with producers like George Drakoulis, Mike Hedges, John Cornfield and Jim Lowe. In 2006 they came together to start this recording that became I Am No One and it is an album that sounds like their last two years – hectic, brash and beautiful. “Sixteen Layers are like a juggernaut… their debut is a sonic tour de force… File under “I” for impressive…”, Edwin Mcfee, Hot Press.
