Sixt Dietrich (Xistus Theodericus) (born c. 1494 in Augsburg , died October 21, 1548 in St. Gallen) was a German composer. Since 1504, Sixtus Chorknabe was at the Domkantorei in Konstanz (Kostnitz), where he was released on August 21, 1508 at his own request. On 23 September 1509 he went to the University of Freiburg , where he made friends with Bonifacius Amerbach . There he married a Freiburg burgher's daughter (1519) in 1516 and fled there from Constance . There he became a teacher of the Chorknaben in music and Latin, and was ordained a deacon in 1519. He then received on April 30, 1520, a monastery at the cathedral in Konstanz, and another 1522 when he received his primacy . When the Reformation was carried out in Konstanz in 1527, he lost his income there and took an occasional opportunity. He married again, had several children, traveled to Matthäuszell in Strasbourg, to Amerbach in Basel and Simon Grynaeus . In 1534 he wrote a mourning motete and on 21 December 1540 he went to the University of Wittenberg , where he gave lectures on music at the Faculty of Philosophy. In the middle of 1541 he returned to Constance, returned to Wittenberg in 1544, and, in addition to his lectures, supervised the printing of his anthems with Georg Rhau , who printed many of his works of worship. After the Wittenberg surrender , he left Wittenberg again and stayed in Constance. From there, two months before his death, he had to flee Charles Constance to Constance, where he died. Diet
