Sistema Bomb is a musical project that celebrates folkloric music of Veracruz by creating modern arrangements of traditional Son Jarocho songs in order to bring this 400 year old genre of México to a broader audience. Sistema Bomb's "Electro-Jarocho" is a trans-border album that incorporates the ideas and concepts of traditional musicians with the electronic palette that Sistema Bomb producer Hector 'Hecdog' Pérez created. The self-produced indie project is Pérez's debut album and features several guest artists including Asdru Sierra of Ozomatli, Patricio Hidalgo, Liche Oseguera, Andres Flores, Ramón Gutierrez, Los Cojolites, Moyenei and Roco Pachukote of Maldita Vecindad. Hector 'Hecdog' Pérez is a San Francisco based composer and producer who has studied Son Jarocho for years and has strived to incorporate these important musical elements into his electronic soundscape, a statement that celebrates the Mexican roots through a dance hall friendly concept of electronic creation. As a testament to its resonating reach, Electro-Jarocho was nominated for a 2013 Grammy Award in the category 'Best Latin Rock, Urban, or Alternative Album'.
