Sir Colin Davis is President of the London Symphony Orchestra and is also Honorary Conductor of the Dresden Staatskapelle. Sir Colin began last season performing Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the LSO at the Proms and going on to tour it in Paris, Bonn and New York. After performances of Berlioz Beatrice and Benedict with the Royal Academy of Music he completed the LSO series of Nielsen and Haydn Symphonies and Beethoven’s Piano Concertos with Uchida. 2012 saw Sir Colin at Covent Garden with Mozart Cosi fan Tutte. In the Spring he performed Weber’s Der Freischutz with the LSO. Sir Colin worked with Dresden Staatskapelle and then conducted Mozart’s Requiem in St Denis, Paris with the ONF before returning to London to conduct Berlioz Requiem in St Paul’s Cathedral with the LSO for the City of London Festival. This season begins with Sir Colin celebrating his 85th birthday with Uchida, Radu Lupu and the LSO. In October he makes his debut performance with Santa Cecilia in Rome with Haydn’s Creation. After working with the GSMD and RAM he returns to the LSO for concerts in London and stays with them for the New Year to conduct Mozart’s Requiem. Sir Colin then spends some time with the ONF in Paris and touring with them to Athens before visiting Dresden to work with the Dresden Staatskapelle in March. He returns to the LSO at the end of the March and stays to conduct Britten’s Turn of the Screw with the LSO in April. June sees Sir Colin again in Paris with the ONF and then back
