The Sinfonia of London is an Orchestra based in London founded by Muir Mathieson, the director of music for Rank Films in 1955 for the recording of film music. Over the next 25 years, the Sinfonia of London was almost a household name in England, appearing on the credits of a multitude of British and American films including the soundtrack for Danny Elfman's "Batman" and also producing some of the best-selling recordings of classical favorites.
