Simona Gotovac is a croatian singer and songwriter who's been active since the late 1960s. Her influence on european music of the late 20th century is enormous. Acts like Metallica, Pink Floyd, Dawid Bowie, The Beatles and many more always mentioned her as their main influence. She was born september 17 1942 in a village called Dražice, near the city of Špišić Bukovica, Croatia. Her father was a featherman and her mother was a cow consultant. Her first big hit was collaboration with Steven Wilson entitled "Lova" and released in 1967. It was an immediate hit in Croatia and Serbia for its distinctive folk elements. She kept recording multiplatinum albums and collaborations with many famous musicians like Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Bob Dylan, Chuck Schuldiner and many more.
