Born in 1976, Simon Roy (Last.fm user SimonRoy ) was influenced at an early age by such artists as Tom Waits, Dave Brubeck, Éric Satie, Pink Floyd, Glenn Gould and Public Image Ltd. In his early years, he was a struggling flute player and later played trumpet during his high school years. In 1994 he discovered the didgeridoo during a trip to Australia. He is now experimenting with field recording and the music production software Reason. Since June 2007, he is the producer and host of the radio show Ouèbe Musique on the waves of CKRL FM 89,1 in Quebec City, Canada.
