Artist
Simon K. Jensen was born in Copenhagen in 1973. From 1993 to 1996, he played with the band Patricia Painting. In 1996, he moved to Sweden and joined the progressive rock band Grovjobb, where he was the flutist and saxophonist for five years. Simon Jensen Band was founded in 2004 with Simon (flute), Peter Nilsson (bass), Per Fenger-Krog (piano, keyboards), and Oskar Bergenheim (drums, percussion). The debut "All You Can Eat" was released in January 2005. During 2006, the setup changed. New members were Jack Anderson (guitar), Marcello Musumeci (bass), and Lars Rosengren (drums). This constellation released a few tunes in 2007 before being disbanded in 2008. Some of those tunes are included on the compilation album "Flute Flashes 2004–2009" (released January 2026). In 2008, Simon became a founding member of the group Tangle with Björn Nyberg (bass), Svenna Granit (guitar), and Håkan Åkerblom (drums). Other non-permanent members were Mårten Larsson (trumpet) , Philip Mauritzson (saxophone), and Emma Svensson (saxophone). Tangle recorded some tunes, but they were not released until January 2026 (included on "Flute Flashes 2004–2009"). In 2009, Simon was part of a three week improvisation project, Carrilho Jensen Nyberg, with Brazilian guitarist Frederick Carrilho and bass player and producer Björn Nyberg. Some of this music is included on Flute Flashes 2004–2009. For more recent information about Simon and his music, please visit www.simonjensen.com. User-contributed text
