Simian Gibbet is made up of three like minded musicians who have been playing together for 10 years or so.... Frog, Mark and Cam, who explored many musical possibilities at a young age which evolved to create something truly unique... Limited success was enjoyed while we were under the name Simian Gibbet, winning various battle of the bands and gaining a solid following... But the lack of a decent recording and rotton luck with drummers slowed our progress to a halt in 2004 where we decided to take a hiatus while we explored other musical opportunities apart... These opportunities turned into Five Star Prison Cell for Cam and Mark which eventually paved the way for Frog to join Walk the Earth as their new vocalist.... A brief history of drums: Simian had the opportunity to play with many amazing drummers who taught as all a lot... The first of these was Dean Thompson who can now be seen hitting skins for Alpha State... A very progressive minded guy and huge fan of Primus and Dream Theater, his technical ability was amazing... He allowed us to explore time changes and dynamics with ease and with Dean we got a long way at a very young age... For many reasons Dean decided to leave the band and in came David Hargreaves whom we will dub the party drummer.... Dave also had amazing abilities and I think we had the most fun with him on the sticks, there was plenty of going out, partying, and exploring mind altering substances...
