Simian Artillery are a ska/punk band from Deal, UK and we're formed in 2007 by drummer Joe Russel and saxophonist/vocalist Benji Powling. It was a slow start as band members were gathered and rehearsals started, and the band bagan on local gigs.. This has continued with the band beginning to become more well known and respected in the local scene for their energetic live shows after the release of the their first studio recordings on the EP "Keith". The name for this release came from the band deciding that not enough EPs had human names. The current line up is : ~ Lee Marriott - lead vocals and banter ~ Alex Rowbottom - guitar, vocals and shirts ~ Benji Powling - tenor sax, vocals, dance, banter ~ James "Frenchy" French - alto sax and vocals ~ Amy [enter long name here] - trumpet ~ Henry Poulton - bass and violent mood swings ~ Joe Russell - drums and fashion sense.
