Silly Moose is a joint project between university students Jordan Grimmer and Matthew Cook. Based on the Macintosh program Garageband on a MacBook, their first song Fallin' was created on a Thursday night when the two decided to not visit their favourite public house and instead stay in to watch the 1985 film The Breakfast Club. Taking vocals from a previously recorded version of the song, the track was finished in a few hours and was uploaded to MySpace and Last.fm under the quickly devised band name Silly Moose, and album name Letting Loose.
