Signify was an alternative/progressive rock band based in Buckinghamshire, England, active from 2000-2005 consisting of John McLeod - vocals/guitar/piano/organ, Jezz Boyd - guitar/synthesiser, Mike Boyd - vocals/bass/piano and Matt Flitton - drums. "Signify" was formed in 2000 as an instrumental project for GCSE Music by guitarist Jezz Boyd and keyboard player Kieran Price, which later developed into a full band including Jezz's brother Mike on vocals/guitar/bass and Matt Flitton (drums) with whom Jezz had previously played as a three-piece. Price left in 2001 to pursue other interests and for awhile the band played as a three-piece with Jezz and Mike taking vocal duties. Talented schoolfriend John McLeod was then inaugurated soon after to complete the line-up and take on the roles of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist, with Mike moving to backing-vocals and bass and Jezz to lead guitar. The band played a small number of local gigs and released one demo EP entitled "Signify the E.P." which consisted of four home-recorded demo tracks. The band stopped playing in 2005 due to a lack of motivation. Mike went on to form indie pop group Johnny Goes West later that year.
