Siemens Nokia consists of three dudes: Sanel (Gogdog), Harli (Laurel 2) and Timo (Oumeen). The idea of the band, which formed in Tallinn, Estonia is to not to overthink and make raw music, drawing inspiration from everything they like - from baggy UK sound, 90s rap and hip-hop to college rock and post-punk. The keywords are "Y2K", "Tony Hawk's the music", and perhaps the best way to sum up their sound and overall vibe is "pohuiwave" ("pohui" being an Estonian swear word meaning "fuck it"). Trio released their first album "Jippii!" in April 2022, which was followed by extensive amount of live shows in different places, venues and festivals in Estonia. Sophomore album, a more guitar-driven "Ebarealju" followed in July 2023. In February 2024 they changed their name to motonormal after receiving an official request from Nokia Corporation about using its copyrighted brand name in a way that the company didn't deem suitable.
