After four blistering albums and eight years of touring both nationally and internationally as Australia's premier independent metal band, SEGRESSION decided to take a step back and try something else. Their experimental rock side-project morphed and exploded under its own momentum, debuting on Australia's VideoHits TV program and quickly spreading to the TripleJ and Austereo radio networks - all before the recording of their album was even completed! The SIDE EFFECT X debut album "Life" was heralded as world-class (DrumMedia, May 2004) and was widely praised for its diverse and upbeat rock sounds. The Australiasian Dirt Bike Magazine wrote "Their debut album is brimming with tight, clever music" and Mixdown Magazine claimed that "Side Effect X have the potential to conquer the Australian music scene."
