Biography SICKBOY’s first single “The A-Tune” produced by Marc Carolan (Muse’s live gem) received serious airplay and positive reviews in the Capital. It was featured on a TV advert for the six nations rugby on RTE and was also the Most requested song on Phantom FM in 2007! Performing on stage for the likes of The Kooks, The Coral & Gang of Four to name but a few along with their own list of live shows- gained Sick Boy legions of fans in their own right. A step in the right direction for this Dublin based band, showing promise for the future. Consisting of twin brothers Colm & Brian Giles and Dan Doherty, they have forged a powerful but melodic sound that incorporates intense delayed guitar hooks, a intelligent rhythm section and thoughtful yet sometimes cheeky lyrics and a live show that’s raw and in your face- something you won’t forget in a hurry. Think Gang of Four /Early U2/ The Stone Roses/ My Bloody Valentine/ and you might be getting closer to their sound. Having established themselves as one of the most exciting unsigned bands in Ireland, shows us not a little, but allot of hope for this 3 piece. With their 5 track triple A side & double B-Side EP “Taken Away In A Car” (produced by Marc Carolan ) ready to be launched with an intimate show on July 25th in Whelans (upstairs) & July 30th in Antic’s @ Crawdaddy + an 11 date mini tour around Ireland and an album on the way. We can expect only great things for this band. SICK BOY are and act to be seen, heard, adored an
