A thrashing quintet has been making waves in the baltic metal scene: the gang of mischievous welders with an unpronounceable name - Shvininiai Sharvai - has become a local phenomenon, noted for their unique welder-inspired personas, punchy metal tunes and explosive theatrical shows. Coming from metal, jazz and EDM backgrounds, the welders have been crafting a one-of-a-kind musical experience for over half a decade and building a cult following in their home country of Lithuania. SHSH (acronym used by the band for simplicity) started their musical journey back in 2017, with the release of their debut album "Atshiaurusis" and several singles afterwards. However, the band has only recently revealed itself to a more international audience, with the release of their second album (their first one in English) - The Great Paradise of Tomorrow, in 2023 Despite the band's focus on political satire and comedy in their past work, the new record explores more serious themes of future and past authoritarian dystopias, dangers of modern technology and digital corporate hellscapes. Sound-wise, the new material by SHSH is an original and exciting blend of thrashy riffs, groove rhythms, intricate bass parts, dark saxophone melodies and powerful vocals.
