It's often the done thing for most new bands to blend into the latest scene. Shrugged, a four-piece from London , are clearly determined to do their own thing. Named after the book Atlas Shrugged which explores the power of individuality and non-compromise, the band strives to bring song-writing back to the rock music scene. Not forgetting their background, Shrugged welds influences as diverse as Radiohead, Dinosaur Jr. and Miles Davis. Formed in 2002, the band set out to fuse captivating melodies and guitar pop, only with louder guitars. The result - finely crafted songs, a unique blend of serene melodies, atmospheric instrumentals, and big choruses. Shrugged has recorded and produced their debut E.P. ("The 3 EP") to high acclaim followed up by a series of successful shows including headlining the Metro Club, The Garage and Dublin Castle in London whilst picking up a loyal fan base along the way.
