Shower Thoughts was born in an Amherst College dorm room when Brooklyn natives Alden von Ziegesar (electric guitar) and Warren Thimothe (songwriter and lead singer) were assigned as roommates their freshman year. Joining up with Emmanuel Osunlana (drums), Diego Ramos-Meyer (keys) and Jamie Sandel (bass), the band played shows at Amherst and beyond. Heavily influenced by the indie rock sounds of Vampire Weekend, Tame Impala, and The Strokes as well as modern jazz music and hip-hop production, the group honed their sound and released their single “Alone, Again” in January 2018 under the name Salmon Shorts. Later that year, they came together again to record their debut release, the Shower Thoughts EP. As of Fall 2018, the group regularly performs in support of their EP, and is planning a double release in early 2019.
