Shovelman, also known as Isaac Frankle, is shovel guitar wielding surrealist folk superhero from Willits, California. Playing good old fashion folktronica grown and looped straight out of the ground. His shovel folk style delta blues is processed through filters and loops, adding a sonic edge to a classic down home sound. Isaac plays a fretless modified snow shovel guitar, which doubles as a percussion base for his music. With influences like Tom Waits, Les Claypool, Beck, Leonard Cohen, Nirvana, Bob Dylan; shovelman is carving out a new sound of processed folk. In 2009 he released his debut album The Dirty West and is currently preforming throughout California.
