Shotwell Coho was the name used in the original 1994-96 incarnation of the San Francisco Bay Area based punk band now known as Shotwell. Their first SF gig was opening for the So Cal bands SUBLIME , STRUNG OUT and Santa Rosa's ska faves CONSPIRACY at the SF underground cooperative KOMOTION space in December of '94. They soon recorded a seven inch single for release on Broken Rekids with Kevin Army twiddling knobs and made a brief rambunctious Northwest tour. Jim was very disappointed during '95 when a coveted opening slot invite on Jawbreaker's Dear You tour was lost due to bassist Paul's apathy. Drummer Aaron soon moved eastward in a typically gypsy like fashion, and Jim made arrangements back in SFto keep his new band going under the new name Shotwell. The original lineup was comprised of drums-Aaron Cometbus ( formerly of Crimpshrine, Pinhead Gunpowder) guitar vox - Jimmy Broustis ( formerly of Strawman, X-tal) bass - Paul Curran Shotell Coho releases include: Shotwell Coho (7") Broken Rekids 1994 tracks: APHM Redemption Song Cristobol Colon J.T.R.I.P.
