Artist
Shiraz Tilley is a Brisbane based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Brisbane in 1989 to ex-patriate British parents, she became the music captain of her high school for two years in a row. In 2008, she recorded an album of demos which she released on iTunes, and went on a marketing campaign to promote her gigs around Brisbane. Her music has been described by her as "wtf-alt-indie-folk-pop-rock-country-blues with a touch of soul". She cites Crowded House as her main musical inspirations, along with Sheryl Crow, and Missy Higgins. She plays keyboards, guitar, saxophone, djeme, harmonica and flageolet and her gigs are largely informal and self-promoted. Aside from her band, she also plays in covers band The Affordables.
