Shingie-Lee’s passion for underground rap and desire to drive it forward through innovation is evident in his discography. Born on October 3rd, 2003, Leroy Shingai Twaibu, known as Shingie-Lee, is a rapper, record producer, and songwriter from South Africa’s North West province. Shingie-Lee’s music can be categorized as alternative/abstract hip-hop and cloud/emo rap. Shingie-Lee began producing music in 2018 and released his first single, in October of the following year with the guidance of the country’s largest hip-hop collective at that time. Since then, he has released several singles and EPs like “WAVES,” “OGMA,” “DARK PIT SARDINES,” and more. His debut mixtape, “MANNEKIN: VOLUME 1” was released on April 30th, 2024.
