Shifty Sly has been smashing dancefloors in Melbourne for over 9 years now with his tough upfront Bassline Beats and Breaks. Shifty began his DJ career by winning a DJ comp at Out of Order, one of Melbourne's longest running and most successful Breaks nights which at the time was headed up by Nick Thayer. Things just kept getting bigger and better for Shifty, becoming the opening DJ for Melbourne's highly respected hard Breaks party Gimme A Break. It was from playing the opening sets, Shifty honed his style of tough slamming Breakbeat that had just enough funk injected to keep the dancefloor moving without making their heads cave. Shifty now holds a residency at Melbourne's only weekly Breaks night, Bass Camp and can be found supporting most of the international Bass artists that come through Melbourne with the Rock Like This crew. Shifty has played support for the likes of Stanton Warriors, Rennie Pilgrim, Elite Force, NAPT, Ctrl Z, Dub Pistols, Splitloop, Deekline, and Skool of Thought to name a few. Shifty prefers to be known as a BASSLINE DJ which allows his sets to be a mash of Breaks, Electro, Dubstep, Drumstep and Drum n Bass. Shifty prefers his sounds on the harder darker edge but is just as comfortable scratching and looping out a chilled downbeat jazzy cafe set if that's what's required.
