Sherkel is a composer and multi-genre producer active since 2010 with releases across a variety of web sources, generally avoiding labels. The majority of his work falls under the umbrella of video game music, though pieces with longer structures draw from Romanticism and solo harpsichord pieces lean into Baroque influence. As his only motivation is having more to listen to, he does not consider himself a "project". His involvement with two scenes nearly sparked a change on this front: fanmade Pokémon music and freeform hardcore. However, interest in other styles gradually distanced him from the former scene, and his commitment to authenticity and expressiveness led him to be ostracized from the latter one, leaving most of his work unreleased. He occasionally sent audio files to the Tsundere Violence label due to their relatively tolerant stance on art and low visibility. Regardless, his internal drive has never stopped him from continuing to create, whether he likes it or not!
