“When the leaves turn orange and brown, you’re going to want me around” laments Chad Serhal, lead singer /guitarist for Indiana-bred She Does is Magic. My Height in Heels is the band’s first full-length release which, alternating between songs with and without vocals, is a great example of just how great catchy rock music with clean guitars can still be. Replace the ever-present distortion for Midwestern heart, add a touch of classic 50s sound, and you have a thoroughly modern, and solid debut release from start to finish. There’s even a Smiths reference in there for the sake of indie street cred. My Height in Heels is a split release between Flannelgraph Records and Crossroads of America Records available on CD and a limited pressing of 300 copies on vinyl.
