Artist
Sharon Cheslow is an experimental musician, vocalist and intermedia artist who creates unique and visionary sound collages, songs and improvised noise, both solo and in collaboration as Coterie Exchange. Her audio and video releases can be found on Decomposition and compilations by Kill Rock Stars, 5RC, Ecstatic Peace and Protest Records. She got her start in pioneering art punk, no wave and hardcore bands in the 1980s/90s, in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA: Chalk Circle, Bloody Mannequin Orchestra, Suture, Red Eye and The Electrolettes. Since 2002 she has collaborated with Yellow Swans, Inca Ore, Kris Thompson of The Lothars, Bromp Treb (in the duo Trebville Exchange), Deerhoof, Erase Errata, KIT, Liz Allbee, Weasel Walter, Concentrick and Elisa Ambrogio of Magik Markers among others.
