Oregon native Pop-Folk singer/songwriter Sharaya Mikael may be new to the Indie music scene, but when it comes to gaining a following this artist is not wasting any time. Continually, her tantalizing vocals prove too irresistible for even the most unsuspecting passer-by. At an open door venue her voice migrates to the sidewalk and not a single pedestrian resists a double take; many of them turn around and come inside. Her sound is siren-like. With less than a year under her belt as a solo-artist she has already accomplished several notable achievements. She independently released her first 5-song EP titled “Far Field”. She accomplished an extremely successful 50-state promotional tour selling over 2,000 copies of her EP, playing more than 70 shows in 6 months, and filling a variety of venues from colleges to coffee shops around the country. She also gained a wide and faithful fan base through personal contact and a blog titled “Packing Light – Far Field Tour 2010.” The blog, written by Ally Spotts, chronicled the adventures of the two girls as they traveled across the country; recounting a variety of stories and adventures from busking on the streets of Portsmouth, NH to playing high-profile venues like the Hotel Café in Los Angeles.
