Shane Dawson was born with the name Shane Lee Yaw, but changed it to Dawson because casting directors wouldn't call him back because they thought he was Asian. He chose the name Dawson after Jack Dawson because his favorite movie is Titanic. He joined YouTube on March 10, 2008 and is now the third most subscribed YouTuber with 2,175,513 subscribers.
