Shaft of Steel are a 1980s-influenced UK heavy rock band who blend melodic metal and synthwave to create a new genre – metalwave. Their debut EP was released independently in 2014 and it led to a string of festivals and support slots with major artists in the AOR genre. Their first full-length album was released by German label AOR Heaven in 2020 to wide acclaim in heavy rock magazines worldwide. They have since released a popular cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” and further singles in anticipation of their first new material in three years, which arrives in the form of new single and music video “Back to Me”.
