Shadi Megallaa was one of the pioneers of the Dubai electronic scene in the early to mid 2000s where he continuously pushed the scene forward introducing new darker, minimal sounds to unsuspecting crowds at various venues. He infamously played the opening party of the now-defunct, short-lived legendary nightclub 'terminal' in the unfashionable Garhoud neighborhood near the Dubai Airport. The club was temporarily closed down the following week by the authorities ostensibly for lack of licensing and shut down permanently a few months later but not before altering the nightlife scene in the Middle East for good. Shadi started the first record label based out of Dubai called Vibrant Sounds before moving to Zurich to continue his DJing and producing career.
