Sepentine is at this moment in time, a two piece Melodic Death Metal/ Metalcore band, comprised of members- Adam Gulley (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Fabian Basker (rhythm guitar, lead vocals). They both record their own music using a BOSS BR1600 CD and mix the tracks with the help of Adam Gulley's father: David Gulley. The relatively nascent band started in late 2008, and has continued to evolve rapidly, experimenting with different vocal techniques and guitar sounds. Influences include: Death, Nile, At the Gates, Opeth, Metallica, Machine Head, Dimmu Borgir, Trivium, Meshuggah, Children of Bodom and Norther. The two band members live relatively far apart, with Adam situated in Chelmsford, Essex, and Fabian in Beckton, East London. However they both go to the same school and find time to practise and record their music in their hectic lifestyles. One demo song has been recorded titled "Antithero" although the lyrics were near-enough improvised on-the-spot. It is about a living corpse, walking the Earth in search for a nameless tomb, which when found, would enable him to rest in eternal slumber. For the actual recording, the lyrics will be improved and other parts may be added. The song has a relatively simple structure and clocks in at 3 minutes. The band has stated that not all of their music would take this style. There will definetly be clean vocals and guitars, as well as deeper melodies and harmonies.
