The Serial Rhyme Killers first appeared on the T.H.C. (The Hip-Hop-Collection) Vol. 1 album in 2002. Now this is all about smoking shit, so you can really call this a dope album. Hard to find in Europe. But what is this Serial Rhyme Killers shit all about? Instead explaining much about the Serial Rhyme Killers, here`s a quote from “Murder Dog magazine” I found on the “Everlastworld”- forum (Thanks DJF!). “After introducing rap fans to The Psycho Realm in the 90`s, Cypress Hill emcee B-Real is getting ready to unleash his latest side project - the Serial Rhyme Killaz. The new group is comprised of rappers Willie Malo and Son, better known as Mellow Man Ace and Son Doobie of Funkdoobiest, respectively. The group is shopping for a label deal and hopes to release its debut album, “Deluxe Rapture”, later this year. Long tied in with the Cypress Hill extended family, Son and Willie Malo ironically had never rapped on a song together. That all changed when B-Real got them in the studio to record a song for his solo project, noticed how well their styles worked together and decided to put together the Serial Rhyme Killaz. “Deluxe Rapture” will feature production from B-Real`s Audio Hustlers crew, which also includes Cypress Hill drummer Eric Bobo and Fear Factory bassist Christian Olde Wolbers. Alchemist and Fredwreck Nassar also are likely to contribute beats. Guest rappers will include B-Real protege XL, possible Jacken from The Psycho Realm and most definitely Everlast on
# Why This Project Warrants Attention This collaborative venture deserves consideration as a thoughtful extension of West Coast hip-hop's conceptual ambitions. Rather than functioning as a conventional supergroup, it represents artists experimenting within constrained creative parameters—examining how skilled lyricists operate when freed from commercial expectations. The project's rarity in European markets adds archival value, but more importantly, it documents a specific moment when established figures were exploring underground aesthetics and sonic territories. For listeners interested in hip-hop's internal dialogue—how veteran artists challenge themselves technically and thematically—this work offers genuine insight into the craft beyond mainstream visibility. It's worth pursuing not as novelty, but as evidence of serious artistic exploration
