Artist
Sergey Khismatov was born 21 February 1983 in St. Petersburg, Russia. He graduated from St. Petersburg Trade Union University in Sound Production in 2007, also he took post graduate education at European University in St. Petersburg, department of Art History 2010. Sergey participated in workshops and open lectures of composers and musicologists such as Julia Wolfe (USA), Mark Applebaum (USA), James Girudo and Francois Paris (France), Boris Filanovsky (Russia), Bjorn Gottstein (Germany), Vladimir Tarnopolsky (Russia), etc. He was a participant in student programs such as ‘Stockhausen Concerts and Courses Kuerten 2009’ (Kuerten, Germany) and ‘Donaueschinger Musiktage 2009’ (Donaueschingen, Germany). His work “Cymbals Quartet” was selected by ISCM 2011 in Zagreb (Croatia). He was the finalist of composers’ competition "YouTube" with composition “The Finale” (“The Prism”) for large orchestra (2010, Russia). “Spring Relapse” by Sergey Khismatov won the international composers’ competition "Musique Bruitiste. Luigi Russolo – Rossana Maggia" (2010, France) in the nomination “Rossana Maggia” (Electro-acoustic music with vocal). Also composition “Spring Relapse” was selected in the finale of international composers’ competition "Gaudeamus Music Week 2010" (Netherlands). He has been nominated on Grand Prix in “Sergey Kuryokhin’ Prize in the Field of Contemporary Art” (2010, Russia). Sergey was the finalist of Russian composers’ competitions “Step to the Left” 20
