Sergent Pépère was born in 1998. The four founder musicians met while performing with the Arpion Céleste group, loosely translated as Heavenly Foot (slang for foot) a group of street performers on stilts. Wishing to develop their own sound, close to the "fanfare" style, they left their stilts behind created a distinctive style, inspired by tzigane music, oriental jazz, latin American, ska... Today Sergent Pépère consists of a group of seven very individual traveling musicians. Their various themes and their sense of fun, combined with an undeniable musical discipline (proof which, the unforgettable sax solo at the Serres 2004 Festival) take them around France and the rest of Europe, from concerts to street performances. In 2010 comes their new street-show called "Du vent sous les Robes", along with the eponymous album. French psychedelic/alternative music formation.
