Serenity Fails was founded in February 2004 by Dimitri and Bert. Both were driven by starting a new band after the dead of an unnamed-going-nowhere-band they were in, in which they were a singer and a guitarist respectively. Intentionally they would keep that line up in “Serenity Fails” though Dimi would start of as a guitarist until they found an other one and he would pick up the vocals afterwards. By now you might already know that it didn’t turn out that way… Being both students in Leuven they got in contact with Tuur who was already playing in a punkrock-kinda band. As he was getting more and more into Hardcore, so he wanted to join their “band”. Also, somehow they picked up a bassplayer called Benny who played with them for about half a year. He left in a mysterious way. After a while they found another drummer with to much time on his hands and a bass-guitar by luck..called Tom. Most people call him Jaak, so you decide how you want to call him. Not only did he just “own” a bassguitar. He could also play it! FAT LUCK FOR THEM! So they were finally complete…they just needed another guitarist. One time someone actually contacted them to play with them, but since he played in a bigass band already (which I can’t remember anymore at this point) they decided not to hook up with him since they were all like…mediocre.
