Serenade of Spite is a six-piece metal group from southern Finland. The music of SoS is hard to categorize. The older songs include elements from symphonic and power metal with slightly progressive song structures and parts of death-/thrash metal. Because the band has two guitarists nowadays, the newer songs are more focused to melodic death metal, even with some metalcore influences. The band is going to record the third demo, currently unnamed ep in summer 2012. Because the lead vocalist Salmela has also been writing the lyrics the upcoming ep includes songs in two languages, finnish and english. The power metal elements are almost totally cut off and random cross-genre parts (such as jazz and even nu-metal) are taking place. The main focus is still in melodic-/symphonic death metal.
