about

Serdar Öztop is a rock guitarist from Turkey. His sytle of music can be summarised as instrumental Turkish rock. He uses both of modern rock sound and Turkish motives. Playing the fretless electric guitar also contributes to his diverse sytle. Previously working with many of the reputable members of the Turkish rock scene, Serdar Öztop relased his first solo album, Sükut, in summer 2002. This was the first instrumental rock release in Turkey. Following this album, in september 2005 he released his second work "Mutluluğun Gözyaşları". In this album he worked with many of the famous names of Turkish music such as Volkan Öktem, Cengiz Baysal, Cem Aksel and Nev as guest musicians. He also demonstrated some of his vocal talent with this one. This second relase actually has a more unique sound, in which the artist tries to put the Turkish motives forth a little more, blending them with the traditional rock sound. Also being a producer, Öztop has his own production company "Öztop Müzik", from which albums of his own, Quartet Muartet and Bora Uslusoy were released.
