about

Sensible Sam & Japan are a 5-piece band based in London. Their indie-pop takes inspiration from Bowie to Magnetic Fields via Talking Heads. They combine guitars and keys with uke, mandolin, synths and melodica to create music that would blind a deaf man. The boys have known each other for so long they sometimes claim to have invented pop music. But as they were born in the 80’s it is more likely that they were conceived by it. In 2010, the band started a rumour that their energy on stage reflects the excitement and intensity that runs through their music. They’ve been proving it at venues across London such as The 100 Club, The Hoxton Bar & Kitchen and Islington Academy ever since. In 2012 Sensible Sam & Japan released their debut EP If I Lose My Legs. In clinical trials, 4 out of 5 women would recommend it to a friend.
