Artist
Selah Collins is a London-based dub, reggae, dancehall singer/songwriter and guitarist. Selah’s first musical experience was in the mid 80’s in a roots band called BLACK SURVIVORS. They played around England and Europe and recorded an album named FAMINE on a independant label named SWORD LION. Throughout that time he was working amongst various sound systems and linked up with UNITY SOUND and recorded few tracks with them. Some were never released but the track PICK A SOUND was his most popular song from the sound. According to Robert “Ribs” Fearon (the owner of Unity Sound) in an interview given in 2004, this song was the biggest hit of this label. It has been out on an album from UNITY SOUND, “WATCH HOW THE PEOPLE DANCING”, that had good distribution in Europe. Through the years he’s been working with different musical vibes and labels. He recorded songs on DUBWISE label, REAL REBELS for the dub massive. He also had a couple of songs released on SIRIUS records: MUST GET FREE, EMPRESS. Also London sound KING ORIGINAL released a track called HOPE on black skin boy riddim on the label STUDIO 55. http://www.myspace.com/selahcollins User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
