Svetlana "Seka" Aleksić (Serbian Cyrillic: Светлана "Сека" Алексић) (born 23 April 1981) is a Serbian pop-folk and techno folk singer. Born on 23 April 1981 in Zvornik, SFRY, now Bosnia and Herzegovina, to a Bosnian Serb father, Milorad, and a Bosniak mother, Ibrima, who also lives with Seka in Serbia. She has a younger brother, Nedžad. Her father worked as a machinist and her mother was an employee at the Drina football club. Her parents later divorced and she continued living with her mother. When the war broke out, Seka and her family moved to Banja Koviljača, Serbia and later Šabac. She started out singing Ceca's songs in cafés before she became famous. She moved to Switzerland for 2 years to boost her career in clubs and discothèques. After Switzerland she moved to Bijeljina and performed at a festival in Ćuprija, where she also found her future husband. However, after a short while, Seka and her husband divorced. Soon after, she found a new boyfriend and manager, Zoran. In the beginning, as a folk-diaspora singer, she had difficulty finding gigs around the EU countries, especially Sweden, because of her Bosnian-Serbian background. Nowadays, because of her popularity, Seka can be seen in many major EU cities. Seka also had an important role in the Serbian movie "We Are Not Angels 3" (Serbian: Ми нисмо анђели 3, Mi Nismo Anđeli 3) as "Smokvica", the girlfriend of a pop-folk star. The role first went to Croatian singer Severina but she declined due to scheduling conflict
