Sebastián Alfonso (Made, 1616 - Zaragoza, June 7, 1692) was a Spanish composer, master of chapel in different cathedrals. It seems that he studied with Sebastián Romero, master of chapel of the cathedrals of Tarazona and Zaragoza. It should not be confused with a certain Alfonso Romano that the musicologist Robert Eitner mentions in the church of San Pablo in Zaragoza in 1628. Sebastián Alfonso would be too young to be the same person. He was a varied composer, closer to traditional polyphonic music than to the new currents of the time. Among his pieces, the Romans and Christmas carols stand out, without missing the forced masses and motets. His works are preserved in the musical archive of the Seo in Zaragoza, in the musical archive of the Cathedral of Jaca, in Alquézar and in the Library of Catalonia, in Barcelona.
