Scripture Mastery is the name of a program for high school students administered by the Church Educational System, a division of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. This program, a component of the church's Seminary program, identifies 100 doctrinally significant and freqently quoted scripture segments, for memorization and discussion by students enrolled in Seminary. They are expected to "find [these] scripture verses, to understand what they mean, and to apply them in daily life." Memorization is encouraged, but not required for Seminary graduation. The list is divided into four parts: the Book of Mormon, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Doctrine & Covenants. Each year all students enrolled in Seminary focus on one of those four volumes of scripture, and are encouraged to memorize the Scripture Mastery verses for that particular volume. Audio files of the 100 current Scripture Mastery selections can be found at the CES website. NOTE: About thirty of the Scripture Mastery tracks are too short (under 31 seconds long) to scrobble. This is a known "feature" of the Last.fm scrobbler. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
