1. Scran is a collective of young traditional musicians from the Isle of Man. The band grew out of the the 'Bree' Manx youth music movement. Culture Vannin, the Manx Cultural organisation who set up Bree, took some of the more experienced members and split them off to create the 'Bree Supergroup', led by mentor, Paul Rogers (Mabon, Strengyn & Fecktones). As they grew in experience and confidence, they renamed themselves as 'Scran', which means 'commoners' in Manx Gaelic Past members of the band include Isla Callister-Wafer, who is now a member of the successful folk band Trip and BBC Radio 2 Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2018, Mera Royle on harp. ‘Nane’, (Manx Gaelic for 'One'), Scran’s debut album, was released on November 14, 2018.
