There are two bands known by the name "Scientists of Sound" 1. The 1990's lyrically conscious uk hip-hop group (1992-1996). 2. The Canadian electro-looping-madness-duo of Aaron Collier and Craig Mercer (2006-present). _________________ 1.Scientists of Sound (a.k.a. SCI-4) consisted of Bam (a.k.a. Bob Eskimo), Aqil (a.k.a. J-Blast, a.k.a. Rylo Steelo), Cherok (a.k.a. Doc Holiday) and Aybee (a.k.a. Strontium God). Between 1992-1996 they released 3 singles, a 2-piece vinyl and a DJ Evil Dee (Black Moon/ Beatminerz) hosted Mixtape. Hailing from Willesden North London, they represented a generation of UK Hip-Hoppers that took the attributes of the diaspora to new heights. They worked with producer Skeff Anslem (A Tribe Called Quest), everyone's favourite UK DJ Shorty Blitz, TY, Fallacy and 4x4 (a.k.a. Mis-Teeq) to name but a few. They are best known for their 1996 "science-fiction Hip-Hop opera" album 1.4.4. Or Bust (The Replenishing). 2.
