Born in and raised around Detroit, Schizometric grew up in the punk scene in the city in the mid-90’s. He began DJing and going to raves in the city in 1999 while he attended Central Michigan University in mid-Michigan, where he helped throw a few parties in mid and west Michigan where the Fort Wayne, Chicago, Detroit and Western Michigan cities were very prevalent. In the beginning of 2002, he moved to Ypsilanti, MI when Ghostly International was at its peak in Ann Arbor and Detroit. He stayed there until he graduated with a Film Degree. He then moved back down to the Detroit area, and in 2005 started making a presence in Detroit. In 2007 he moved back to Ypsilanti and briefly had a monthly at the infamous Elks Lodge. In 2010, Schizometric finished a second bachelors in Graphic Design and moved into Detroit where he grasped ahold of the scene with a storm, playing the most insane tracks he could find. He also switched from being a vinyl snob after 12 years to using his laptop; first using ableton and then switching to Traktor. Schizometric has been known for DJing some of the craziest house parties Detroit has ever seen. When DJing he tries to break every rule of DJing, often being sick of hearing the same monotonous mixes, he takes from his punk roots and adds a little hip-hop flavor, not being afraid to drop a beat right on your forehead. And since his range of BPM’s varies so much he sometimes mixes in Thirds or Fourths, creating a chaotic sound that is unique to this DJ
