Artist
Saving Atlantis is the highly-anticipated result of six musicians with a shared vision for making honest, unique, inspired music. Formed in early 2008 near Albany, NY, the band has since carved a niche in the upstate New York music scene as a must-see act. With performances ranging from a main-stage slot during LarkFest 2008 along with Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), to opening for national touring acts Audrye Sessions (Black Seal), Jounce, Damiera (Equal Vision Records), Thieves and Villains (Victory Records), to several radio appearances on 102.7 FM WEQX, Saving Atlantis has accomplished a great deal in its mere two year existence. Saving Atlantis effectively bridges the gap between radio-friendly pop and indie rock, drawing on many musical influences to create a layered, melodic sound full of hooks and pop sensibilities. Chad Johnson’s powerful arrangements, combined with Austin Lakata’s soaring vocals and a backing band to die for, creates a cohesive sound that is a little bit rock, a little bit pop, but also something different altogether. Saving Atlantis has been described as “The Police meet The Killers meet Pink Floyd meets Muse.” Quite honestly, you have never heard a band like Saving Atlantis. Saving Atlantis' debut album, the self-titled Saving Atlantis EP , was released on January 1, 2010. Look for the band at a show near you.
